Hungry Cookie Monster

This note from Karen is a nod to one of Tian's earlier notes.
"Dear Dad, Cookie Monster thinks that the note was really good, he wants more!" Cookie Monster: "More note!"
From the looks of Cookie Monster's physique, eating notes instead of cookies has been beneficial.

Trim the Tree

I'm not sure if Karen understands the joke she made.

She spoiled the surprise!

"Dear Dad, do you (k)now what we're having for dinner? Chicken! Bok! Bok!"

Another one for Dad. Sorry it's so hard to read. "Dear Dad, have you ever heard of the moon falling?"

The Tables Have Turned

Karen is enjoying Christmas Break for a couple of weeks. She decided to return the favor and make Tian some lunch notes.

"Dear Dad, Have a good lunch. All the cheesy noodles want you to cook them, they don't want to rot." Noodles: "Please cook us!"

Ever since she brought home the December school lunch calendar, Karen has been so excited for the "Holiday Lunch" on December 17th. She reminded Tian to not make her a lunch at least 5 times last night. When she got home today, I asked her how it was. Did she have ham? Potatoes? Sparkling cider? She informed me that the holiday lunch was a garden burger, an orange and salad. That takes the pressure off me for Christmas dinner, I guess!

So Crisp!

I just realized that I've been using the wrong camera setting up until today. Aren't these pictures so much better?!

I love how stressed out the poor guy looks!

Most Saturday mornings, Tian makes the kids breakfast. Their usual fare is a "toad in a hole" which is an egg fried in the center of a piece of bread. You can see a picture here.

Karen was emptying her lunchbox and handed me the following note. She said, "I don't get it." I read it and said, "I think Daddy wrote this one for his own entertainment. It was late when he made your lunch."

She asked Tian to write her a note that she "gets" next time. The poor little girl got this one the next day:

She told me that she "barely got it."

Dewey is Karen's beloved stuffed mouse. He looks pretty young...for now.

Dried Cherries

Grammie was nice enough to send us some dried cherries. Karen kept bringing them home unopened. Tian gave her a friendly reminder to eat them.

And then he gave her a not-so-friendly reminder.

She then explained that she couldn't open the container by herself.

We have had many discussions about not saying mean things or using potty talk. When Karen got the note below, she was mostly concerned that she couldn't see a handle on the toilet.

We bought Karen this to use as a nightlight in her room. She loves it, but can you think of a worse name for a kid's toy than "Uncle Milton's Moon in My Room?"

Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends is a great love of 80% of our family.

It turns out he didn't have to worry about her eating too many at once; she wasn't eating them at all.
